The World for Which I Hope

POEM | ISAAC LOH —

I would accept a world okay
Where you and I are justly weighed
In full, jury to condem us
Failed, but by concensus.

I wish for a world that could be better,
At least for me.
A world in which I’m better,
Where only I am not a mess, though fail you are I say,
So am, though think not so.

But I hope in a world that’s truly good
A world in which I’m understood
Where people know how much I’ve failed
Yet come aid me when I’m ailed

But I’m just fine with a world like this
Where I must learn to know all this
